In 2023, Minnesota became the 23rd state in the U.S. to legalize recreational cannabis. This law made it legal for people over the age of 21 to possess, consume, and grow recreational cannabis. The law also established a new department of the state government, known as the Minnesota Office of Cannabis Management (OCM), to establish licensing, testing, and regulation guidelines. In order to found the new OCM, it was announced there would be a waiting period before retail sales were fully legal throughout the state. Issuing of retail licenses for the sale of cannabis flower, pre-rolls or vapes is currently expected to begin in the Spring of 2025.
While any products that can be inhaled are not yet available for retail sales outside of tribal nations, hemp-derived edibles are available for legal sales. The current state guild lines establish that hemp-derived THC drinks and edibles must maintain 5mg or less of THC per serving. THC beverages may contain a maximum of 2 servings (10 mg THC per package), and THC edibles may contain a maximum of 10 servings (50 mg THC per package). While we hope to start selling legal flower as soon as possible, we will always remain fully compliant with the states cannabis laws and regulations.
